Maybe I am missing something but devs didn’t say no. There were also another solution proposals (like shortcut, etc.).

And would it please be possible to at least have a key binding for "Mute"?
It could be unset by default so users won't mute game by mistake, but other users could map it themselves if they wanted.

True, it would be nice if most of major OSes supported this feature.
But until then many game developers decided to support this feature from within the game itself.
It would be nice if Factorio could be among those games.

I learned to play Factorio completely without sounds because of this. I used to turn the sounds all the way up/down each time when switching to/from Factorio, but it has become so tedious that I am now playing completely without sounds all the time. It's a pitty that I don't get to enjoy all the gre...

Looks really amazing. But maybe the best part is the addition of the status LED so it will be really easy to visually distinguish depleted mines from the clogged ones.

I don't get it either. I can't think of any reason why not to have this optional feature.
But I still hope that some day it will get to Factorio. But until then I am forced to play the game on mute most of the time.

For this very reason I nowadays play factorio completely without sound.
It was tiresome to go to settings to mute sounds every time I wanted to keep factorio running in the background.
I pretty much got used to it.

I just found out that it can be forced on per-app basis by this command (run in terminal):

Code: Select all

defaults write com.factorio NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance 0
(don't forget to restart game after this change)

But app's native support would be of course better.

macOS has now for some time support for apps to natively switch between light and dark appearance based on system's setting. It would be really cool if Factorio also supported this so window titlebar could be dark when dark mode is enabled. I like to play Factorio in windowed mode and this light tit...
