Would you really need to disable the steam turret to prevent OPness? I think Electricity makes a more deadly weapon than Steam , but there is no reason you couldn't have both. Sounds nifty, but while the game is all about automating stuff, if you start to make basic things such as factory construction automated, the game will start going from constructing factories to waiting for the game to construct factories for you. Yeah, using rockets or driving a car into the them is a good way to take out turrets.
I think laser weapons would be fun to use but should have about the same range as machine guns (or Laser turrets).

Do Creepers slowly gain in strength, defense and agility as the game progresses? Creepers are challenging at first, but way too easy once you have a comfortable setup. Progressive strength, numbers and enemy types would be a good addition to the mix.

These "engines" that are part of a Power Plant. So performance makes less sense than Available Power vs Usage.

Abandoned means no one is around, because they left. Most likely it was made by aliens or other survivors of the crash that died.
