Re: Friday Facts #394 - "Stack" inserters"
WRT the confusing name change, I'd like to suggest: * Retire "stack inserter" altogether -- no more thing exists. * "Bulk inserter" as you have planned. * New item that puts stacks on belts is "Stacking inserter" (it stacks things on belts by "doing stacking")...

Re: Friday Facts #376 - Research and Technology
Apologies for being late -- I'm just now catching up on "a zillion" FFFs. At any rate... Reading about "must craft to earn early technologies" made me wonder what the impact on the Lazy Bastard achievement would be. Can it still be done? Is it being adjusted (to other than 111 it...

[0.18.26] Mac does not sleep with factorio running
Even when at the title screen (not playing), Factorio prevents my MacOS (Mojave, 10.14.6) from going to sleep, or even dimming the screen. * Launch Factorio (I'm on 18.26) * Play for a while. * Quit game, but don't quit Factorio. * CMD-H (Hide) Factorio. * Go to bed. * Wake up 8+ hours later; check ...

Rocket image layering is off.
When the rocket launches, it does not properly obscure items which should be "behind" the rocket.

Search for Train Stop on map.
I'd like to be able to type, say, "Iron Ore Pickup" into a search box and have all the train stops that match be highlighted on the map. NOTE: I have many train stops with the same name. ...Though sometimes it'd just be nice to see where the train stop that I named with creative whimsy is,...

[0.17.40] Mac won't mount. [0.17.41] link is 404
For Mac, experimental, from https://www.factorio.com/download/experimental, mac 17.40 downloads much too quickly, and the resulting dmg won't mount ("no mountable file systems"). The 17.41 link is 404.

RR Trestles
NOTE: I did a search, but "Trestle" only came up in one thread, and that idea was about loading/unloading. This is different. Railroad trestles serve the following purposes: * Act as an overpass for trains. No-intersection crossings, allowing long RR-freeways that don't get interrupted whe...

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics
This post made me wonder about your testing processes. When y'all eliminate something and just replace it with default values (like mining hardness, etc.), do you have a set of old games that you can playback with old & new values and see if the game went faster, slower, or some automated ML-cal...

Re: Logic robots churn repair packs.
NOTE: Not every roboport does this all the time. But a lot of them do it a lot of the time, and it (a) is mildly annoying and (b) ties up my logic robots!

Logic robots churn repair packs.
I have a blueprint to setup roboport + power + requestor chest for repair packs. This has worked "since forever" but, with the latest release (16.51), my logic bots take the repair packs out of the roboport and put them int the chest, over and over and over, churning them forever and tying...

Shanemadden: that's pretty close, except I'm looking to get this feature request into "vanilla" Factorio.

Re: Feature: Place trains on track with automation
Yes, when I mentioned cargo (or fluid) cars, I meant to imply with auto-coupling. I hadn't thought about auto-de-coupling, but I can totally see how one might want to bring a car full of whatever resource, decouple, put the full car onto a spur track (with chugger-locomotives to move them out of the...

Feature: Place trains on track with automation
Feature request: I'd like to set up a locomotive factory that places its output onto the track. (Obviously, I'll have automated refueling and cargo-cars, too. :) ) Basically, I'd like to set up a station "fresh trains" from which I can draw a new train to come to my distant location and be...

Want: Shallow-turn RR tracks
It seems that RR track can only do hard 45Β° turns. It'd be nice to get some 22.5Β° ("half") turns, or even "quarter" turns, to allow closer spacing of track. In the attached image, the bend/merge I want to make is indicated by the green arrow. What I'm forced to do is shown by the...

Up/down-gradable Blueprints.
TL;DR: Blueprints should have checkboxes for "ok to downgrade" and "upgrade if possible." Example: I have my early-game blueprint that's all slow/yellow track. "upgrade if possible" means to build it with express track, now that I'm later in the game. Example: I have my...

New robot: Upgrade robot.
TL;DR: This robot has 2 inputs: upgrade-from and upgrade-to. He's a sort of combination logistics + construction 'bot. (In fact, maybe that's his cost to build: 1 logBot + 1 conBot.) Example use case: find slow track; replace it (upgrade) with express track. Or Find assembly-plant 1, upgrade to asse...

15.26 Bluebook sharing & GUI are wonky
Multiplayer network (headless, not LAN, also 0.15.26) game hosted by a friend. Multiple bluebook weirdness. * When I share my bluebook, they show up as shared by a playername who has never been in this game (but has played in other games with us, back in 0.14 days.) * I inadvertently removed a bluep...
