They've redone the science at least twice.
The game is still in development so there's no reason why they can't keep redoing it.

As it is, the current research system gives off a real "This'll have to do for now" vibe.

Re: Research going too fast/easy while I do other things?

I agree with OP. It makes me feel overwhelmed with options which demotivates me and it doesn't feel like a streamlined progression. It would be more satisfying for me to unlock several sub-groups of research based on what I specifically want to do next than to have a swathe of options open up all of...

Re: Not pleased with 17.1 so far...

I'll throw in my 2c as someone who dabbled occasionally with the game from initial (non-steam) release up until version 15, and restarted playing with the latest patch, as I believe my mindset is closer to a brand new player than people who have played for hundreds of hours. The game is far, far bet...

Re: [16.0] Sideloading works completely different now

Just as a quick update we are actively working on fixing all the belt issues including sideloading and experimenting with compression. Due to the complexity of belts, because of all the optimizations, this is not easy, so bear with us. Really glad to hear this. Thanks for taking community feedback ...

Re: Screen "judders" (skips frames) while driving around base.

I have a 6 gig GTX 1060 and a Ryzen 7.

As I said, this happens regardless of my settings, and I've seen it on several different builds over the years.

Hoping to see it fixed before too long.

Re: Screen "judders" (skips frames) while driving around base.

I guess that's not the fix for you as well. Bummer. I've seen exactly the same issue on a number of different PC builds over the years. The "lurching" happens at precise locations rather than randomly, which strongly suggests that it's an optimization issue rather than a hardware issue. T...

Comply with these please: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3638 https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=51319 Thanks. I updated my OP to state that this has always been an issue with every release, and it's not a performance problem - the game runs buttery smooth apar...

[Rseding91] Screen "judders" (skips frames) while driving around base.

I've notice this problem for quite some time now and I've been hoping it would get fixed, but it might just be that it hasn't been noticed. It's subtle but I find it very offputting and immersion breaking while driving my car around my base. It's happened with every version of the game since it firs...

Re: Make biters more visible

I agree with OP that the biters need to be more visible, but for me the main problem is that they're not very scary because I can barely see them against the background. They might as well be ASCII for the visual impact they have. The current biter graphics are fine as an alpha placeholder but I hop...

A vehicle issue I haven't seen mentioned.

Joined into this topic, cause identical. -- ßilk The thing that makes controlling the car feel clunky and very irritating for me is that if I'm reversing and I press W to go forward in anticipation of the vehicle stopping, it stops and doesn't go forward. I then have to release the W key and press ...

Re: Conveyor belts optional using electricity

suspension of disbelief allows you to ignore it and enjoy the game. A game that forces the player to either make a conscious decision to ignore it's immersion breaking elements or otherwise have their immersion broken could have been designed better. I agree with Hexicube's point about burner inser...

Re: Conveyor belts optional using electricity

1. If I knew it was in the game from the start, I would have complained almost immediately because it would either be unrealistically power intensive or pointless to have that requirement. I don't believe you. I don't think you would have given it a second thought. I don't think anyone would. An el...

Re: Conveyor belts optional using electricity

Because instead of learning to do them one after another, you have to learn them together. Yeah, really mindshattering stuff. It's OK though... I came up with a solution Tutorial: "Ensure your conveyer belt is connected to your electricity supply". Hopefully that won't make too man...

Re: Conveyor belts optional using electricity

Also It took me a little while of playing the game just to figure out basic automation, and getting belts and burner inserters to work properly together. Once you learn this, the burner stage of technology can be pretty much skipped and you can go straight away to using electricity, but for beginne...

Re: Conveyor belts optional using electricity

Conveyor belts would require such a minute amount of power that it would be pointless to even include such a system. The point would be to show that they require power and you need to do something to provide it, just like everything else in the game (except water pumps, which also need to be addres...
