Re: Friday Facts #335 - Scenario changes, Damage effect filtering

To be honest, I am a big fan of DoT being applied every game tick, which makes it feel much more natural. I do understant that it comes at a perfornance cost, but it's a big "feels good" moment.

Clicking the shortcut, will grab the first available stack from the inventory.
Wouldn't it be better to grab the last available stack from the inventory? So there is no more than 1 uncomplete stack of items at any given time.

Re: [0.16.34] FPS drop in map view zoomed at gun/laser turrets

I can confirm this. The effect becomes stronger with more turrets visible. I managed to max out my GTX 1060 with an array of 13x13 turrets. Notice how GPU usage is only about 38% when zoomed out at a maximum distance with visible buildings.

That wouldn't do much, it needs to be opt-out, just like crash reports.

Also, are you running on buttery or is your laptop plugged in to charger when you do these tests? Re: Factorio runs better on Intel iGPU, than GTX 960m

Thanks for the reply. I tried this with charger both plugged in and not and it doesn't change the outcome, since it's not FPS limited, but has strange dips when something complicated is on the screen. I also made sure to test with maximum performance power plan, both in Windows settings and NVCP. I ...

This is only true for Win7 and windowed / borderless applications. I run it on win10 in fullscreen.

Re: Factorio runs better on Intel iGPU, than GTX 960m

I restarted my laptop and that seemed to help to get rid of Vsync. However, it seems like I managed to lock it up again in "on" state by turning it on and off. Also, the 30 FPS lock on a 960m is gone for some reason. Logs: 960m.log hd530.log Both GPUs offer not the most pleasant gameplay e...

Factorio runs better on Intel iGPU, than GTX 960m

I've got some weird issues that involve Factorio, i5-6300hq (with HD 530 graphics), GTX 960m (2gb dedicated VRAM) and Vsync. This is what happens when I look at somewhat populated area: Screenshot_3.png Key features: a. Out of 33.3ms frame cycle, 27.5 is spent on flip[off]; b. Vsync is DISABLED both...

Re: High VRAM demand but in fact verly low GPU requirements

Also, please don't buy laptop to play games :( it's just trouble ... While this is true for playing stuff like Witcher on ultra with hairworks enabled, Factorio at a glimpse looks like a pretty light game in terms of system requirements, and a lot of people expect it to run well ("well" a...

Funny because I had an issue of generating very small amount of biters no matter which settings I used. Tested on the same map seed - all apeared in the same locations.
