A way to move chests without having to remove the items inside it would be very useful. Maybe a tool that make you able to do that? Or maybe just make it part of the game mechanic? :D

You mean chest on transport belts? :)
We have been considering this and it would be very easy to achieve, but this would make the logistics way too easy.

If you mean upgrading chests, it works already, you just build iron chest over wooden chest and the contents stay.
This work even for smart-chests based containers (so the connection to circuit network is preserved).

He probably wants to take a full chest and move it manually to some other place, without having to take all the stuff out and move it into the chest in the new position. And this is not possible now. It would be quite useful, if you want to let's say move your production facilities little and you need to move your big storage.

Maybe cranes and boxes? Transform a Chest into a Box (or Container) then move it using Cranes into the place you want them to go OR move it to a Train to take it far far away to another base.

Edit: btw, that's useful information on upgrading chests! :D Didn't know that. That will make things simpler too

In fact, it would be useful to move all types of building with a special technology.

One of those suggestions, which are too old. I think too many things have changed.
