Announce tech choices in multiplayer

Had an 8 player public game this evening where someone was greifing us on technology. Every time Oil Processing or some other important technology got close to finished, they'd change it to Shotgun Shell damage, thus losing all of that time and green science. Since we can't know who is doing it, we don't know who to ban.

So I'd like to suggest a console message appear when research is chosen or switched in multiplayer. Something like "PlayerX has started researching Y". Then you can't secretly grief the other players in this way...

In my opinion the chosen tech research should be voted.

I still think the solution is to store research progress in the game.forces[].technology[] table with a new .progress variable.

You know the game data isn't actually stored in Lua variables, right?
