DESCRIPTION
Remember that classical copy paste feature is shift-right-mouse -> shift-left-mouse. From one object to another one, possibly repeatable.

But when you have to change a whole bunch of existing chests, aren't you tired of repetitive pastings, clicking hundredth of times on shift-left-mouse to paste new requests slots on chests ? (read my original complain here)

Then this one-copy/multiple-paste area selection tool is for you !

When you have researched "Automatic construction" technology, you can craft the Copy Settings Tool.

Grab the CST tool in your hand, copy the settings of an object using shift-area-selection (draw a rectangle).
Be sure to select only the one object you want to copy as a source.

Then release shift and just area-select the objects you want to paste on. Et voila !

Note that, in the paste area selection, you can select objects that are not suitable to receive the copied settings : they just won't be affected.
You can also include the original object in the selection : it won't be affected either.

Remember that using this CST tool, you can copy-paste the following settings :
- recipes of assembling machines (can be paste on assemblers but also on requester chests),
- requests of logistic chests,
- hashbar of chests (limiting red arrow),
- filters of inserters,
- train stops names,
- trains schedules,
- and maybe more? (if you know more, tell me).

Note that you can also use this tool to wipe settings : you just have to empty the CST clipboard before. To do this, shift-select an empty area of the map. Then if you select any group of objects with CST, it will ask you what kind of settings you want to wipe. Handy, no ? ;)

Last thing : if you want to quickly grab a CST tool in your bag, just type ALT-V. This key is customisable in Factorio menu options/controls/mods.

Have fun with Factorio !
