I agree with the others that the concrete doesn't look like real concrete.
However, unlike the others, I don't care because it looks great.

Re: Speed Modules, What are they good for?
You could ask the same about computer processors: Why bother increasing the speed, if you can just add multiple processor or multiple cores? The answer is that parallelism is more complex than just ratcheting up the speed. With enough speed modules in an assembly machine 3, as well as a lot of surro...

I'd simply like to see the type-in field select anything in it when I click in it, so I don't have to double-click to get it to do that.

Re: Friday Facts #212 - The GUI update (Part 1)
I think others have touched on this... The current paradigm is that you pick a train and then you design a route for it. I feel like it would make more sense to design a route, and then assign that route to one or more trains. You could keep a set of routes like a set of blueprints. You could copy a...

Re: No path for train in automatic mode, despite having signals
There can be several reasons to get a "no path" message: Your train doesn't have a locomotive facing the correct direction. There's a break in the track between your locomotive and your destination. The signals are placed incorrectly. If you're completely stumped, manually move the train a...

Re: Friday Facts #209 - Optimisation is a way of life
Those stone paths are beautiful. I never build stone paths in the game because they're not as fast as concrete, and I don't like how they look. If they looked like this, they're probably all that I would build! As for the bots, though...it feels really cheesy to me to make the logistic bots invulner...

Re: [0.15.23] inserter waits too long
Speaking as a programmer, I know some of us find the word bug too whimsical and use the word defect instead, as it has a more uncompromising sound to it. So is this a defect in the game? No, it isn't. The developers intended for things to go at certain speeds. If something in your factory isn't keep...

You're not doing anything wrong. It's just not something you can do with assembly machines.

Re: "View your posts" doesn't let me view my posts
So maybe the text should be changed to "View all the topics I've posted in" rather than "View my posts".
(Though just viewing all the topics I've posted in doesn't seem very useful.)

The problem in general with "Make an easier way to accomplish X" is that it destroys any sense of accomplishment in doing X the original, hard way. To draw an analogy: In addition to getting an Olympic medal by competing and winning, imagine that you could get an Olympic medal by paying th...

Re: Problem with some rail signals
It's red because of the train on the left. That train entered the block (turning the signal on the left red) and is still in that block, because it hasn't passed another signal. So that train will stay in that block, blocking it, until it's done loading and leaves. I gather you probably don't have a...

Re: Showing Underground Belt Direction
Is there a way to display the direction of underground belts by pressing the [ALT] key (without hovering the cursor over each of them), like with showing the recipes inside assembling machines? No, but you don't need Alt to see the direction. The little chevrons on the underground belt ends point t...

Re: How to use logistic chest ?
In a nutshell: Blue chest - Use for requesting items, e.g. for an assembler. Robots will try to find these items and put them in the blue chest, which the assembler can then pull out with an inserter. Red chest - Use to deposit what the assembler makes. Robots will take these if they're needed elsew...

"View your posts" doesn't let me view my posts
When I click "View your posts", it shows me a list of threads I've posted in. What it doesn't do is show me my posts. If I click on one of the threads, it just shows me the whole thread, not the part where I posted...which can be quite hard to find manually in a 14-page thread. Is there so...

Re: Why won't my circuit-enabled pumps pump?
The train was (in theory) perfectly aligned. It was brought to the station automatically. It should be obvious that the train was in the station correctly, because why else would the light oil pump show an activated (green) light on it? It was activated by reading the 75k light oil on the train. But...

Nah, it was a brand new stop. Neither the pumps nor the pipes, tanks, and chemical plants had ever consumed any fluid before.

After all that, I deleted the three pumps, added them again, hooked them back up to the circuit, and set the enable conditions again.
And now...it works!
Bug?

Why won't my circuit-enabled pumps pump?
I'm trying to make a train stop that can process any of the three crude oil outputs into solid fuel. As you can see from the picture below, I have three pumps. The first is enabled if heavy oil > 0. The second and third are for light oil and petroleum. All three are connected to a circuit which is a...
